The National Year of Reading is all about celebrating reading in all its forms.
It was created to help children, families and communities discover just how exciting reading can be.
Schools, libraries, authors and tonnes more of people are joining in.
The ideaβs simple: reading can change your life. It can help you learn new things, travel to imaginary worlds and understand other people better!
The most important part of the National Year of Reading is encouraging everyone to read for fun, not just for homework.
Reading isnβt only about getting better at spelling or tests. Itβs about imagination, curiosity and discovering stories youβll never forget.
There are tonnes of fun activities taking place like book challenges, storytelling sessions and visits from writers. Weβre challenging you to try different kinds of books from adventures and mysteries to comics and fact books!
