Water is another substance which electricity loves to travel through. Make sure you donβt get water on electrical items. And ensure your hands are dry before you handle computers or hairdryers or any other gadget powered by electricity.

Be careful with cables β keep them tidy so they donβt get damaged, donβt tug on them to get plugs out of the socket, and tell a grown up if they look burned or split.

When youβre playing outside never go near substations or pylons and be careful if you are flying a kite nearby β electricity loves to travel and you donβt want to be the place it ends up!Β

If someone youβre with has an electric shock, itβs important that you donβt touch them. The electricity may still be travelling through them and it would love to leap into you too!Β
