Hey, itβs Nancy here from soon-to-be world famous pop group Nancy and the Meerkats!
Although, we havenβt been called that for long! Me and the meerkats popped along to see our manager Big Joe in an awesome patisserie to try and come up with a name for our new band today.
Seeing as Iβm the singer I thought we should be called βThe Princess Nancy Experienceβ but the meerkats and Big Joe said no. Rubbish right?!
I also had another idea to call ourselves βOne Direction β To the Amazing Nancyβ. I thought this was awesome because people might think weβre just as big and super successful as One Direction and thatβll make us even more famous!
Bad news sports fans. Big Joe said youβre not allowed to pretend you are someone else like that β or even that you may be connected with someone else. Itβs all to do with intellectual property, you need to come up with a name that no one else is using.
So in the end we went for Nancy and the MeerkatsΒ which I love almost as much as βThe Princess Nancy Experienceβ.
Before we settled on it we had to do a snoop around on the internet and make sure no one else had already taken that name. Even if they havenβt registered it themselves, itβs worth choosing something totally new.
It was completely new and original so Big Joe registered the name which means weβre all set and no one can steal it! Not even that miserable moggy Kitty Perry!
